Duration: 6'
Program Notes
Conceived as a perpetual motion, mosaic consists of harmonic and melodic fragments derived from this original sketch. At times the music retains the rhythmic and driving quality of the perpetual motion and other times it delves into textures featuring extended techniques and changing instrumentation. This alternation culminates in a short piano solo that ends with the percussive motive that also opens the piece.
